Road Trip!

01/02/2023

We had such a great and busy start to the year. Ewan had the opportunity to take students from North Korea on a trip around part of the South Island. They are here for 3 months on an exchange.

We started in Queenstown collecting them at the airport, the next day we took them through to the Magical Milford Sound. Another night in Queenstown followed by Cromwell and Omarama then onto Mt Cook where they walked the Hooker Track (Ewan told us he didnt make it very far before turning back) We cant forget the stop at Fairlie Bakehouse for a world famous pie!

Christchurch was their final destination where we sadly said goodbye. We hope they enjoy their 3 months in New Zealand.

ED1E

16/11/2022

Ed1E is our new big orange baby that had retired with Go Orange and Real NZ during Covid. We were lucky enough to secure what we see as a pretty big contract for a small company like ours and needed an extra bus to cater for this contract. He was perfect a large 53 Seater with the bonus of a glass roof the tourists love him.

ED1E will mainly be seen around the Te-Anau, Milford Sound and Queenstown area but from time to time will get the chance to par take in other work.

If you happen to see him out be sure to wave!

Oamaru 30th October 2021

04/11/2021

We ventured on our trip to Oamaru! With a COVID lockdown just after we advertised this trip it left everything so up in the air with not knowing if we would get the interest for this trip to go ahead but we managed to get the numbers!

We had such a great weekend with a great bunch of people joining us! It was lovely meeting everyone and getting to know them 😊 Saturday we stopped in at Moeraki Tavern for lunch, the whole group of 26 people throughly enjoyed their meal and the service we received, we highly recommend if you are heading past to call in!

Once we arrived in Oamaru we got to tour the amazing Riverstone Castle and had Dot herself show us through. The words used were mind blowing, amazing, more than we could have imagined it would be (even the men on the trip secretly enjoyed it!) it is definitely a tick off the bucket list.

Last but not least we enjoyed Steampunk Oamaru museum and a walk around the farmers market and heritage precinct.

The Brydone Hotel hosted us, they didnt expect us all to end up there for dinner but they did a great job at managing us all.

We are going to make this a yearly tour after the wonderful feedback received by all who joined us on this trip!

We went and brought another bus!

23/07/2021

With demand growing here at Event Bus we decided it was time to buy another bus and it is a beauty!

Our new 51 Seater is now avaliable for hire with one of our amazing drivers.

Kaiapoi Tour Group in Southland

31/03/2021

We had the pleasure of taking a group from Kaiapoi around the scenic sites Southland has to offer. They throughly enjoyed their stay in the deep south and the great southern hospitality of Southland.

Some areas of interest on this tour were:

✔ The Catlins – Fortrose, Waipapa point, Slope Point, Tumu Toka Curioscape

✔ Western southland – Clifden Suspension Bridge, gemstone beach, templeton flaxmill, Te Hikoi Southern Journey

✔ Gore – Croydon Aviation Heritage Centre, Mandeville, Eastern Southland Gallery, Maple Glen, Hokonui Moonshine Museum

✔ Invercargill – Bill Richardson Transport World, Southern Farmers Market

A big thank you to Gwen at Kaiapoi i-SITE Visitor Information Centre for organising this trip. We hope to see the group down South again 😀

Southland Dahlia Club

26/02/2021

On Sunday 21st February Karl had the opportunity to take some of the Southland Dahlia club members on a trip to Bluff. This was an excellent way to wind down after hosting the National Dahlia flower show in Invercargill.

The weather was perfect, Karl made the slow and steady trip up Bluff hill in the big girl (the bus)

A stop to stirling point was also part of the itinerary, again panoramic views out to sea with such a clear day.

On the way back to Invercargill they stopped in at Awarua Communications Museum where they watched an old film in the theatre. A great set up and a wee gem to the Southland community.
